la vida loca

Ok, ok, so I didn't pick the most imaginative name in the world - at the moment, it just fit. So here it is...my first BLOG! Woo Hoo and Welcome! I'm excited. And...maybe they'll let me change the name after I carefully craft a more unique title.

Why blog? To kind of go with the vida loca theme, frankly, it's easier! My life is crazy and finding something that allows me to do what I need to do -- communicate if I can't reach someone and practice my writing (something I have neglected for the dumbest reasons) -- works.

This afternoon, my hubby came home from work and we chatted a bit. Our youngest had fallen asleep on the couch and I said 'I'm so thrilled my baby still wants to take a nap'. You know, it's a small sign we mothers take and run with to hold onto that babyness. When I saw the twinkle in his eye after having said that, I said 'oh no, I don't mean you!'. My hubby loves to take naps -- and he deserves them. He's up early and goes to bed late whether it's taking our girls to school or working the late shift so that he can pick them up from school (and not have to pay for day care) he's losing some power up time. Naps are invaluable for him. Yes, I have to remind myself of that every now and then. Unlike him, I do not nap well. It's unfortunate, but I wake up grouchy (or grouchier than usual?) and NOT rested. My only saving grace to that admission is that Simon LeBon (Duran Duran for any youngsters reading this) is the same way (sigh).

What we'll all do this evening after he naps, I'm not sure. As for right now, I will end this blog with a 'hey' to Donna Garcia - an old highschool friend who started her own blog and was kind enough to share it with and inspire me.
